It’s Groundhog Day! ……aaaaannnnndddd *drumroll please* Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow!

YAY! You all know what this means, right?! Right?? No more winter.

Spring is coming.

I’m very excited about this. While it may not be scientifically proven that a groundhog can predict the weather, I have faith that Phil is correct. After all, if you can’t believe in a groundhog, what can you believe in?

Anyway… Spring will soon be upon us, which begs the question – what are the best aspects of spring? I have the answer; don’t you worry at all.

My birthday.

Y’all might not care, but I definitely do. April 9. Don’t forget.

The fields are so pretty and the air smells nice. Forget the candles; now you can open your windows. (Bonus: Feel that nice breeze? Perfect.)

Yes, there is a lot of rain in the spring, but look at the bright side: this means that there are also lots of rainbows.

Warm weather.

Stan Fields: “Miss Rhode Island, please describe your idea of a perfect date.”
Cheryl: “That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.”

One of my favorite movie lines. Technically, she’s right.

Grab a book and a go lie in a hammock. Swing your winter blues away.

If you’re into that kind of thing.

Everything is so pretty again.

Capris, cardigans, short-sleeved tees, flowy dresses, kimonos, floral print, pink, light colors, etc.

This technically is fashion, but it deserves it’s own category. We can finally stop wearing close-toed shoes! We no longer have to search for matching socks in the morning. Because you do not wear socks with sandals. I repeat. Do not wear socks with sandals.

Spring break.

Going to the beach? I’m so jealous. I have to work.

Baseball and Softball.

Go to the game before it gets too hot to sit outside for that long. Eat some sunflower seeds. Cheer on your favorite team.

Picnics are the best. You won’t convince me otherwise. Unless your argument is the ants and bees that show up. Then you might win.

Oh, you don’t live near a lake? Take a road trip one weekend. It will be worth it, I promise.

Windows down. Music up.

One thing I miss most about college is driving home in the springtime with my windows down blaring music and singing along. I never have that far of a drive by myself anymore. It’s pretty much the only time I can sing that loudly and badly.

What’s your favorite thing about Spring??
