VALENTINE’S DAY IS THIS SUNDAY. Guys, I know that means that you will either use Amazon’s 2-Day shipping on Thursday or you will visit Walmart on Sunday morning. Ladies, you’ve probably known what you were going to buy for months, but if you need some last minute help, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered.
Disclaimer: I don’t know you or your partner. (I would like to, though, so comment below and we’ll be friends.) Pick a present that your girl or guy will love. I am not responsible for any bad gifts you may or may not give.
Visit from a Puppy
How great is this idea?! First of all, if my husband sent a puppy to work to visit me, I would love him even more. A ten minute break from work to snuggle with an adorable puppy.. it doesn’t get much better than that. Not only would this be sweet, but very me. I’m a very big supporter of adopting animals, not buying them from a breeder. Maybe someone will see the puppy and go to the shelter and adopt it (or get inspired to visit it a shelter to adopt another animal.)
The Fayetteville, AR animal shelter is hosting this event this year. If you live in the area, check it out!
This is some advice from personal experience. I love to read autobiographies from comedians or celebrities. To me, it’s so interesting how they got to be where they are. (I promise this is going somewhere..) I love that my husband knows what kind of books I like. He bought me Rainn Wilson’s (Dwight from The Office) new book, The Bassoon King, this year as a “just because” present. It might not seem like a lot, but it made me very happy.
Go old school. Make a playlist for him/her of all the songs that remind you of them and your relationship. They’ll think of you every time they hear it. There’s a reason this is a classic.
My favorite thing to buy my husband is tickets to a concert or reservations at a hotel somewhere. (Obviously, I have to make sure that he can be off of work at these times.) For Christmas, his present included Ellie Goulding tickets. Last Christmas, he got a receipt for a hotel reservation in Colorado Springs. Make a memory instead of buying them a present that they won’t use.
Tanning Package + Lotion
I am super pale, but I love to be tan. The only way this can happen is to use a tanning bed, but I don’t really love paying to visit a tanning salon. I would definitely appreciate a month of free tanning and good tanning lotion.
The point of this – what’s something that your girl or guy would love, but doesn’t want to pay for themselves?
Mani/Pedi Gift Certificate
Another example of wanting something but not wanting to pay for it. Does your girl or guy have a regular nail salon? Make sure to read reviews and that they place is clean before buying a gift certificate.
What does your girlfriend or boyfriend like? Make-up? Beef jerky? Crafts? There’s probably a box for them somewhere. This is the gift that keeps on giving, even after Valentine’s Day is over.
Can’t think of anything else? Diamond earrings. You’re welcome.
What is the best thing that you’ve gotten for Valentine’s Day? Let me know in the comments!
